Three projects to support its use by AI
The Confederation of Regional Cancer Centres funded three projects 2021 to support the use of AI and/or new ways of working in mammography screening and cervical cancer prevention screening.
The Confederation of Regional Cancer Centres announced funds for applications from groups with researchers, clinically active people and other relevant competences in these two areas and decided to allocate funds to the following three projects:
- "Development and quality assurance of colposcopy operations in Sweden through image storage" led by Miriam Elfström PhD at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics KI as well as the Center for Cervical Cancer Prevention Karolinska University Hospital and Regional Cancer Center Stockholm-Gotland
- "The impact of using artificial intelligence in breast cancer screening" led by Kristina Lång, associate professor at Diagnostic Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, Lund University and senior physician at the Mammography Unit Unilabs/Skanes University Hospital Malmö
- "National Platform for AI and Medical Images" - Mammography screening", led by Fredrik Strand researcher at the department of oncology-pathology at Karolinska Institutet and radiologist at Karolinska University Hospital.
